Sometimes I like to paint something just for fun, as in this acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas entitled Swan Lake. Where I live on the South Carolina coast, we often enjoy watching a mating pair of swans on the pond. This image represents one of those beauties gliding serenely across the pond on a sunny day. The sun, reflected in yellow on the water, cast a beautiful reflection of the swan as she rippled the water in her passing. See a larger version on this on the Gallery page.

I work mostly in watercolor and pastels, but pen and ink drawings were my first love and I still enjoy that medium. Originally from Tennessee, I know I'll never get the mountains out of my blood and hold a love of nature in my heart and in my art, but about four years ago I brought my studio to the beach in South Carolina and those ocean views have inspired my art ever since.
